i asked you to stay
but you left any way
sometimes i ask myself
could things have been different
maybe if i mentioned it earlier
some words spoken sooner
if only i came to see you that day

well it is as they say it is
say our goodbyes and leave in peace
sometimes we win, sometimes we lose
love is bliss, meant for the 'fools'
we could have been good together
but we'll never know it for sure, ever!

this is my point of realization, knowing whats true
'say something i'm giving up on you'
i may feel free, but bound in the past
dwelling on wishful moments that didn't last

though i feel you still belong to me
everything we did still feels real to me
i know this isn't where we belong
all signs indicate that i was wrong
and yes its my fault, I'll find a way to move on!
